I chose to join this team for several reasons. Renewables is an interesting field that I want to learn more about and this project allows me to do that in a way that taking a class wouldn’t. Furthermore, this project is all-encompassing, meaning that it tackles several aspects of wind energy such as the turbine itself and the wind farm. This gives me the opportunity to learn a little about the whole industry and not just one specific area. I also get to work with a bigger team that better resembles what working at an engineering company may look like. Finally, I enjoy the competitive aspect of the project as this puts pressure on the team to make the best design possible.
